Ukraine Terminates Another Agreement with Belarus

It concerns a notification of a nuclear accident.

Ukraine terminated the agreement with the “government” of Belarus on the prompt notification of nuclear accidents and cooperation in the field of radiation safety. The Ukrainian government adopted the corresponding resolution on September 17.

The agreement was signed in Kyiv on October 16, 2001. It provided for cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus in the field of radiation safety and prompt notification of nuclear accidents.

Under the resolution, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs must notify the government of Belarus of the termination of the agreement in accordance with the established procedure.
