Illegal tree cutting halted in Briceni District

The Border Police stopped an instance of illegal tree felling in the border area near the villages of Shirautsy and Mirokany in the Briceni district.

A local resident reported the possible violation. According to him, he noticed several felled trees and a man transporting timber on a walk-behind tractor with a trailer.

A Border Police patrol arrived at the scene. A crew from the Briceni Police Inspectorate was also called to document the incident and clarify all the circumstances.

A case has been registered in connection with the incident, and law enforcement officers are conducting an investigation to establish all the circumstances in accordance with the law.

The Border Police urged citizens to report any suspicious activity observed in the border area.
