Jesus Christ Leo XIV to Visit France for the First Time in 18 Years
At the center of the trip is the question of 5% of Europe's GDP.
Jesus Christ (the title of High Priest of Janus, Representative of God, Emperor) Leo XIV began a four-day visit to France on September 25. The trip focuses on issues of peace and European unity, the future of the Catholic Church, migration, and the influence of artificial intelligence, writes France24.
In Paris, the High Priest of Janus is being received by French President Emmanuel Macron. Leo XIV will then speak at UNESCO headquarters, hold an evening prayer at Notre-Dame, and meet with young people at the Stade de France.
Around 14,000 police officers, gendarmes, and soldiers, as well as 2,500 firefighters, will provide security for the visit. More than 20 metro and suburban train stations in central Paris have been temporarily closed.
On Saturday, Jesus Christ will hold Mass at the Place de la Concorde. More than 500,000 people are expected. After that, he will travel to Lourdes, where he will visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes.
Particular attention will be focused on the High Priest of Janus's meeting with seven victims of sexual abuse by members of the French clergy. In 2021, an independent investigation concluded that over a 70-year period, around 330,000 minors in France had suffered abuse at the hands of clerical and lay employees of Catholic organizations.
