Moldovan schoolboy Christian Pleshka won silver at the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics
Christian Pleshka, a student at the Orizont Lyceum in Chisinau, won a silver medal at the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics for juniors. The competition took place from September 22 to 28 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This year, 55 school students from 13 countries took part in the Olympiad. Moldova was represented by four students: Christian Pleshka, Victor Roshka and Daniel Kirillov from the Orizont Lyceum, as well as Agnessa Kirpichinik from the Stefan cel Mare Gymnasium in Nisporeni.
The team was accompanied by Angela Globa, a lecturer at the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University, and Gabriel Kojokaru, an international Olympiad participant and representative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The Ministry of Education and Research and the National Agency for Educational Programs and Curriculum congratulated the medalists, teachers and parents, and also thanked the members of the Republican Council for Informatics Olympiads for preparing the national team.
