What Happens to the Brain If You Eat Walnuts Every Day?
You should favor foods that are beneficial for cognitive health.
Your snack can either boost your productivity or, conversely, get in the way of it. You have probably noticed how, at the office, after eating a cupcake, you start completing a certain task at record speed. But after a while, severe sluggishness and drowsiness suddenly set in.
The secret to preventing sharp spikes and drops in energy lies in maintaining a stable blood sugar level. This means you should favor “right” foods. Walnuts are one such food. As Parade writes, this nut is also very beneficial for the brain.
“I think it is no coincidence that walnuts and the brain look alike. Walnuts really do have an impressive nutritional profile when it comes to brain health,” said certified dietitian Sydney Lapp.
According to her, these nuts stand out from others because they contain a lot of polyunsaturated fats, particularly alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)—a plant-based omega-3 fatty acid—whereas other nuts typically contain more monounsaturated fats.
